Every field has their own unique nature, also the nature of criminology is unique and it is scientific because it is social science field. The nature of criminology includes scientific research, analysis , forensic methods , investigation methods etc..

       The answer is from sociology, The input of Sociologist Edwin Sutherland work in criminology is brilliant in the field of criminology, Sutherland gave important theory of Differential Association theory in that he defined how a person learn crime ? What factors involve in learning criminal behaviour? .


From Psychology , Psychologist Sigmund Freud have contributed lot in this field his major is social bonding theory. In that theory he defined that how to control from crime?

             Scope of Criminology

Scope means area of field , the scope of Criminology have well defined by Edwin Sutherland that Criminology is study of making of laws breaking of laws and reactions towards violation of laws.


Making of laws include very deep study to understand the particular crime, facts and figures than make sample of investigation for specific crime scene.

                   In simple words the scope of Criminology is how law is made? How people break laws? And what reactions the individual face when they break laws.
