Social Bonding Theory:-
Social bonding theory was given by Travis hirschi in 1969.
Travis hirschi gave 4 components to control criminal/delinquent activities.
1) Attachment
2) Commitment
3) Involvement
4) Belief
Travis hirschi says that when these 4 factors are not present in any person's life then he/she lead to criminal activities.
1) Attachment :-
The person who has weak attachment or emotionally not attached with their family, friends, or siblings he might get out of control and engage in bad activities.
Weather in other side if a person who has strong attachment with their teachers, parents or their friends then he afraid to do bad activities because he is emotionally connected with them.
2) Commitment :-
Means, promise of doing any particular thing.
In this point Travis hirschi says that when the level of commitment is weak then weak commitment lead to uncontrol and engage in criminal/delinquent acts.
Weak commitment with family, friends, or even with themselves.
Travis hirschi says that when you do commitment with yourself like I'll be police officer, Professor or you'll commit any other strong commitment then you automatically avoid engage in bad activities.
3) Involvement :-
Travis hirschi says that when you're not involve in any kind of activity and every time free at home then involvement lead to bad activities.
Travis hirschi says that if you want to avoid bad activities then engage yourself in any particular activity such as sports, watching movies, reading books or novels then less chances to involve in bad activities.
4) Belief :-
Means, having faith on any thing.
Travis hirschi says that when you have strong believe on religion and emotionally with religion then you avoid to do criminal acts, because whatever religion you belong to every religion teach peace, kindness.
Religion teach us if we do acts we get heaven and bad acts lead to hell.
This belief lead control on criminal acts.
